What work

  • Erase mechanic as main feature
  • Have a simple and casual game loop
  • Ghost animations

  • Finish the jam with a MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
  • Different types of movement by each type of ghost

  • Art direction and sound design matching the aesthetic of the game

What didn't work

  • Make a dynamic gameplay tutorial
  • The UX and UI is really simple
  • Balancing the gameplay (really hard the firsts builds)
  • Don't have pause Menu
  • No Web Build at the end of the jam
  • No endless Mode
  • First background draft was scaled too big and therefore didn't match the time and effort available (720x550pixel -> 350x250 pixel)
  • Programming the layered background to fit in the animated moon
  • No reason to add the custom textbox
  • No pause menu initially
  • Strict indication for a ghost to be uncovered
  • Difficulty Spike towards the end
  • No indication of a timer

Improvements

  • Make better transitions
  • Make a simple section or easy and fun to understand the main mechanic
  • Investigate how to do a web build or why we have problem with it
  • Make an algorithm for the endless Mode
  • Going smaller instead of bigger, if time is limited
  • Difficulty playmodes
  • Timer implemented with sound
  • Web Mode
